This role is primarily focused on driving improvements in sales and operational planning and minimising operational waste and production downtime, while maintaining high levels of service delivery to customers.

Our client is a leading player in the mineral sands space with a long-standing presence in WA. With a growing presence across the Australasian market, the supply chain team is growing with the goal of maximising production output and delivering fast and high-quality outcomes for their customers.

Job Description

  • Lead the creation of a sales and operational planning strategy to align production with customer requirements
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and systems.
  • Collaborate with sales, production and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Lead a small team of inventory and production professionals
  • Coordinate with suppliers and transport companies to ensure a high level of service
  • Analyse and report on inventory metrics to senior management.
  • Oversee the training and development of inventory control staff.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the inventory control function.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Planning & Inventory Control Manager should have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • Proven experience in production or inventory planning within a customer-led production facility.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • High level of capability with excel and Oracle-based supply software
