The purpose of the role, working full remote, is to provide overall estimation and project coordination solutions to assist the Company in delivering high-quality engineering services.

Job Description

The PMO & Cost Estimator - FTC 6/12 month will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support the Sales Efforts of SE in regards to: develop BOMs and estimate pricing on scope of works provided by engineers on sites.
  • Develop proposals for the submission to clients by the source of the enquiry.
  • Respond to Tenders and other formal requests to quote from clients.
  • Managing the bid process and the coordination of all the inputs into a tender.
  • Servicing the RFI process associated with tender processes.
  • Efficient and productive implementation of project coordination practices, including but not limited to;
    resource planning, cost control, timelines, scope definition, quality control, task scope, safety management,
    continuous improvement, condition monitoring and reporting.
  • Accountable for monitoring compliance to scope and raising cost variation notifications.
  • Production of compliance/ QAQC documentation.
  • Develop benchmarks for generic scopes of work for the purposes of providing clients with quick budgets
    estimates.
  • Refine estimation tools to improve response times and efficiency.
  • Liaison with other businesses within the group to create opportunities and sharing of knowledge and
    experience.
  • Promote sales of business wide product range through customer interactions.

The Successful Applicant

The suitable PMO & Cost Estimator - FTC 6/12 month has the following responsibilities:

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Mining) or Cert IV in Building and Project Support
  • Desired Cert in Project Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles within the metal fabrication or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes, materials, and equipment is essential. This includes understanding welding techniques, machining processes, and metal finishing methods.
  • Strong mathematical skills to calculate costs, quantities, and measurements accurately. Proficiency in using computer software for estimating, such as CAD software and spreadsheet applications.
  • Good communication skills are essential for interacting with clients, suppliers, and colleagues. Need to be able to explain their estimates clearly and negotiate prices effectively.
  • Familiar with industry regulations, standards, and codes is important to ensure compliance in estimates and fabrication processes.
