Job Description

  • Engage with retail industry stakeholders to gather and prioritise business requirements, ensuring alignment with key retail objectives and customer insights.
  • Lead the design and development of interactive Power BI reports and data models that translate complex retail data into actionable business insights, supporting sales, inventory, and customer experience analysis.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to deliver insights through dynamic and visually compelling dashboards, enhancing decision-making for retail operations.
  • Ensure the security and access control of Power BI reports and dashboards, limiting access to sensitive retail data and safeguarding confidential information.
  • Deliver timely enhancements and resolve complex or urgent defects to minimise errors that could disrupt retail business operations, ensuring seamless functionality across systems.
  • Demonstrate the value of Power BI by creating impactful proof of concepts, tailored to the unique needs of the retail industry, driving innovation and operational improvements.
  • Mentor and guide Power Users and other business users in the development and deployment of data models, reports, and dashboards, empowering them to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Collaborate with Power Users to extract, transform, and prepare retail data sets for use in dashboard creation, ensuring accuracy and relevance to business goals.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Power BI Developer should have:

  • A strong understanding of Power BI development and administration.
  • Experience with SQL and data modelling techniques.
  • Ability to integrate multiple data sources into Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to train others on Power BI usage.
  • Proven record of using data to drive business decisions.
