This is a great opportunity for a Principal Financial Accountant to contribute their expertise to a key public sector department. Based in Brisbane, this contract role will support the team though a Finance System transition to SAP 4/Hanna
  • Long term contract role in QLD State Government

Job Description

  • Cleanse and manage general ledger and open item data to ensure accuracy prior to migration into SAP S/4HANA
  • Review and cleanse asset register data to ensure completeness and integrity prior to migration
  • Prepare financial data in required Excel templates and support data uploads into SAP S/4HANA
  • Perform reconciliations to ensure data accuracy during trial conversions and cutover activities
  • Work with internal stakeholders to gather data, resolve issues and support business readiness
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates on data readiness, risks and issues as required
  • Attend QSS forums and project activities as required
  • Participate in user acceptance testing, including executing test scenarios and validating outcomes
  • Identify and assist in resolving data and system issues during testing phases
  • Define reporting requirements and set reporting criteria within SAP S/4HANA to support business needs
  • Support the transition of reports from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA
  • Provide hands-on support during rollout, including responding to user queries
  • Support the Financial Accounting team with general tasks, including end-of-year financial reporting if required



The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for this role will need the following:

  • Experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger, asset accounting and financial processes
  • Strong Excel skills with high intermediate to advanced capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • SAP ECC6 and SAP S/4HANA experience
  • Experience in government or large, complex environments
  • Experience in data migration, cleansing or system implementation
