Job Description

  • Formulate and execute category strategies in line with company objectives
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate favourable contracts
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and value creation within the procurement process
  • Conduct market research to inform procurement decisions
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business needs
  • Monitor and report on category performance metrics
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements

The Successful Applicant

A successful Category Specialist should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the FMCG industry
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools
  • Ability to conduct market research and analyse data
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
