Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Engagement of and with architects, consultants
  • management of the overall project budget and time frame
  • providing design input
  • devising strategies for achieving client objectives
  • build and strengthen professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Project planning and programming tasks
  • Develop and implement Construction Management plans.
  • Managing the pre-construction and construction phases of the construction process
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using our project management software.
  • Distributing project design & information to contractors
  • Supporting Site Supervisors with appropriate construction phase information
  • Overseeing compliance of our Safety Management Plans, project scopes and plans
  • Oversee projects from commencement to handover.
  • Develop and maintain supplier and subcontractor relationships.
  • Ensure quality and safety standards remain high to minimise harm/injury.
  • Review quotes and oversee CA to ensure Scope is attained.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in project preparation and project review.
  • Help overcome issues that may arise and be actively involved in the problem-solving of day-to-day operation.
  • Review Variations submitted by CA and approved to be issued.
  • Review Subcontractor Variations: claims and Payment Assessment Schedule prepared by CA for approval to be issued.
  • Review Notice of Delays and Extensions of Time drafted by CA for approval to be issued.
  • Control and maintain project budgets to ensure that project is running profitable.
  • Control and maintain Preliminaries to ensure that Preliminaries are being maintained or alternatively additional required prelims are captured via EOT's or Variations.
  • Distribute Tasks and ensure deadlines are met by project team.
  • Coordinate Project Team Meetings to ensure Office and Site Team are operating in unison

The Successful Applicant

Selection Criteria

Project Management Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in project management within the construction industry, demonstrating successful management of projects from initiation to completion.

Budget and Time Management Skills: Proven ability to manage project budgets and time frames effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget constraints.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building: Ability to build and strengthen professional relationships with clients, stakeholders, architects, and consultants, fostering collaboration and trust throughout the project lifecycle.

Design Input and Strategy Development: Experience providing design input and devising strategies for achieving client objectives, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving and project planning.

Project Planning and Programming: Proficiency in project planning and programming tasks, including developing and maintaining project schedules using project management software.

Construction Management and Compliance: Strong understanding of construction management principles, including managing pre-construction and construction phases, overseeing compliance with safety management plans, and ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.

Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain supplier and subcontractor relationships, ensuring efficient procurement and delivery of project materials and services.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills: Ability to overcome issues that may arise during project execution, actively engaging in problem-solving and decision-making to ensure project success.

Document Control and Drawing Review: Experience in document control processes, including reviewing drawings and specifications to identify cost implications and ensuring the latest design documents are distributed to relevant stakeholders.

Team Coordination and Leadership: Strong leadership and coordination skills, including distributing tasks, coordinating project team meetings, and ensuring deadlines are met by the project team.
