Job Description

As the Security Network Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining, implementing, and enhancing the portfolio of security controls within Cyber Security.
  • Utilising Firewall monitoring tools to detect potential security issues in network segregation, collaborating with operational support teams and business units to ensure prompt remediation.
  • Monitoring and reporting progress on all identified issues.
  • Collaborating closely with the business and IT service owners to consistently maintain and enhance security posture.
  • Collaborating with various teams globally across multiple time zones.
  • Demonstrating safety awareness, practising safe working habits, and ensuring commitment to safety.
  • Conducting hazard identification and safety interactions, participating in safety audits, incident reporting, incident investigations, and safety meetings.

The Successful Applicant

Our client is looking for:

  • 3-4 years of industry relevant experience. Not necessarily Cyber Security specific, but network administration or a similar roleSolid understanding of the reasons and technology behind network segregation
  • Experience managing or operating within segregated networks at scale
  • Good knowledge of networking concepts such as network protocols, subnetting, routing, IPS/IDS and firewalls
  • Foundational knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) technologies and protocols.
  • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS and Azure) and an understanding of how identity management and access controls work within these environments
  • Experience working in a global organisation and large IT environments following ITIL processes, such as change control and incident management
  • Strong Cyber operational process knowledge and/or experience (Patching, Cloud, Vulnerability Management etc
  • Firemon / Skybox experience - Desirable
  • ServiceNow - Desirable
  • Azure DevOps - Desirable
