This practice is known for advising on some of the most high profile, complex and well known cases in the areas of procurement, tenders, contracts, probity and legal process, ICT projects, intellectual property, grants and funding, media and communications, environment and resources, construction and infrastructure projects and property and leasing.
This firm is seeking a Senior Associate who has a demonstrated history of providing high level commercial law advice in a proactive and forward thinking style. You will be seen to actively develop the practice with a business winning mentality, uphold and maintain strong client relationships and will strive to progress within the firm. You will work closely with other Senior lawyers and Partners to deliver superior legal service to your clients. You will also be an experienced supervisor who enjoys developing the skills of more junior staff. You must be able to work as an effective member of a project team with other lawyers and with senior clients.
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will hold a tertiary legal qualification (with a strong academic record), be admitted to practise law in Australia and possess the following skills:
· substantial practical experience working on significant commercial law matters
· 5 years' + PQE in commercial practice. Knowledge of government sector clients is desirable
· demonstrated experience in drafting a wide range of contracts and other commercial documentation, including procurement documents
· demonstrated experience in effectively supervising and mentoring lawyers and paralegals
· strong legal, analytical and problem solving skills and negotiation expertise
