Job Description

  • Oversee compliance frameworks and ensure alignment with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across the organisation.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to support compliance objectives.
  • Provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on compliance matters.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to internal and external requirements.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Client Onboarding & KYC - Oversee enhanced due diligence for higher-risk customers, review KYC escalations from the team, and ensure onboarding processes meet AML/CTF obligations and company standards.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and update company policies accordingly.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Compliance Officer should have:

  • 5+ years of compliance experience in financial services, fintech, FX, or remittance sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CTF legislation, KYC frameworks, and FX regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in transaction monitoring, SMR filing, and regulatory reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Business, or a related field (compliance certifications such as ICA or ACAMS highly desirable).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with compliance/KYC platforms (e.g., Shuftipro).
