An opportunity for a driven and enthuasiatic Senior Corporate Accountant to join a market-leading business. Reporting into a highly influential and experienced leader, this high-impact role will manage a small team, oversee end-to-end month-end reporting, lead the external audit process, as well as support system integration and M&A projects. You will have experience growing within a start-up company, or have worked in both start-up and MNCs.

About Our Client

My client is a globally recognized and overseas listed consumer goods business currently holding significant market share within their industry. With multiple M&A projects underway, the business is going through an exciting expansion phase and thus exists a newly created Senior Corporate Accountant role in the finance team.

Job Description

  • Prepare accurate and timely consolidated statutory financial reporting package, leveraging in-depth knowledge of accounting standards.
  • Conduct financial trend analysis across financial statements to provide insights into financial performance. External Audit (Across both statutory financial groups)
  • Lead the external audit process including establishing & maintaining clear cadence and on-site audit for General Ledger.
  • Aggregate financial information and analysis to present to the auditors for both groups.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely completion of audit requests and related deliverables.
  • Manage the accuracy of the general ledger including lease accounting & fixed asset in collaboration with the overseas shared services.
  • Review monthly standard financial reports
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts for OPEX. Analyze and track variances between actual and budgeted/forecasted figures for OPEX.
  • Lead or support various projects, including system integration, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and process simplification initiatives.
  • Offer guidance, mentorship, and training opportunities to support the professional growth of the team (2 direct reports).

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant should have:

  • A degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CA/CPA/ACCA Qualification a must
  • 6-8 years' technical accounting experience with a strong focus on financial reporting, general ledger management, and preparing statutory financial reports in a medium to large organisation
  • Experience growing with a start-up company or experience in both start-up and large MNC environment
  • Proven experience leading projects e.g., M&A, system implementations, upgrades, or integrations, etc.
  • Proven experience managing a small team of junior Accountants
  • Resilience through changes with M&As
  • Passionate about technical accounting, proactive, and driven to progress
