The primary purpose of the Senior Cyber Security Analyst is to plan, design and implement security detection, response and recovery measures to safeguard the organisation from emerging cyber threats and attacks on its information and ICT infrastructure systems.

Job Description

  • Leads security incident response, and communicates with the Whole of Victoria Government (WoVG) Cyber Incident Response Services for deep dive malware and forensic analysis.


  • Lead and manage an effective system-wide security analysis; security threat detection and formulating remediation action plan including developing and implementing use cases in the Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) tool.
  • Manage the service providers offering 24x7 cyber security monitoring and incident response capability including monitoring the vendor performance.
  • Lead the technical design of solutions based on use cases and business requirements providing subject matter expertise in proof of concept and other technical evaluation, design solutions, and stay abreast of emerging cyber security technologies.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Cyber Security Analyst should have:

  • Experience with Sailpoint (highly desirable).
  • Experience with Cyberark or similar PAM softwares (highly desirable).
  • A through understanding of a variety of security tools including firewall logs, intrusion detection systems etc.
  • Experience with a scripting language such as Python (nice to have).
  • Proven understanding of log parsing and analysis at a large scale with data clustering tools or technologies.
  • Malware analysis and threat hunting experience.
