Job Description

This role involves developing and implementing HR strategies and policies, ensuring legal compliance while enhancing business performance and managing employee relations activities.

  • Assist in the development and execution of HR management strategies and policies.
  • Promote best practices and compliance with employment legislation.
  • Coach and advise managers on grievances, investigations, and complaints.
  • Ensure adherence to legislative requirements in all HR activities.
  • Manage employee relations activities within set time frames.
  • Support business performance improvement through HR initiatives.
  • Provide expertise in HR/ER policy and best practice.
  • Handle formal complaints and conduct investigations effectively.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will possess extensive HR experience, a thorough understanding of employment laws, and exceptional stakeholder management skills.

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, legal, or business management fields
  • Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act and relevant employment laws
  • At least 5 years' experience in employee/workplace relations in medium to large organisations
  • High proficiency in advising on HR/ER/IR policy and legislation
  • Proven experience in managing formal complaints and conducting investigations
  • Adaptability to change and ability to provide responsive services
  • Strong work ethic, teamwork, and proactive attitude
  • Superior consulting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in a unionised blue-collar environment
  • Business planning expertise and high-level communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical thinking and ability to manage multiple priorities
