Job Description

  • Oversee Design and development of HV substations up to 132 kV, including primary and protection systems.
  • Guide, plan and implement power systems engineering solutions for complex projects.
  • Ensure compliance with earthing systems standards (AS 3000) for all designs.
  • Support the integration of renewable energy sources, including solar and wind, into the grid.
  • Contribute to the delivery of major infrastructure projects nationally.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless interfacing with rail networks.
  • Oversee construction, testing, and commissioning phases to ensure project completion.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to multidisciplinary teams.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Electrical Engineer should have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in HV substation design and power systems engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, including AS 3000.
  • Expertise in renewable energy integration and major infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with rail network interfacing and associated systems.
  • Experience with construction, testing, and commissioning processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
