Job Description

  • Manage portfolio reconstructions (valuation-only, current year, or inception-to-date).
  • Collect and analyse historical data (asset & cash transactions, outside investments, CGT reports, present-day valuations).
  • Input, reconcile, and validate asset and cash transactions, addressing gaps from corporate actions or external items.
  • Identify and resolve cost-base variances for trusts and stapled securities.
  • Review unallocated amounts and portfolio variance spikes before finalising rebuilds.
  • Liaise with advisers, internal teams, and offshore resources to meet client expectations.
  • Maintain transition trackers and document procedures for ongoing portfolio operations.

The Successful Applicant

  • Strong understanding of portfolio administration, corporate actions, asset classes, and market mechanics
  • Ability to collect, reconcile, and analyse historical and current portfolio data with precision
  • Identifies discrepancies, unallocated amounts, and unusual portfolio variances accurately
  • Skilled in Excel functions such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF statements, and Text-to-Columns
  • Knowledge of CGT, rollover relief, AMIT adjustments, and tax-deferred returns
  • Proactively resolves issues in portfolio reconstructions and addresses gaps in data or reporting
  • Effective communication with advisers, internal teams, fund managers, registries, and offshore staff
  • Collaborative team player with potential to lead, train, and mentor offshore teams
  • Takes responsibility for outstanding rebuild items and ensures tasks are completed accurately
  • Comfortable handling complex portfolios and willing to learn new processes or systems
