Job Description



Reporting to the Head of Payroll, the Senior Payroll Officer plays a key role delivering end‑to‑end fortnightly payroll across multiple entities and states, while also contributing to compliance, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a genuinely well‑rounded role that combines:

  • BAU payroll delivery
  • End‑to‑end payroll compliance and statutory reporting
  • Continuous improvement, systems and automation initiatives



You will partner closely with People, Finance and the wider business to ensure payroll accuracy, integrity and a strong employee experience. Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver accurate and timely fortnightly payroll cycles across multiple states and entities
  • Maintain strong payroll governance, controls and data integrity
  • Produce payroll reporting
  • Support and contribute to a major system implementation and transformation program
  • Identify risks, inefficiencies and opportunities for process and system improvement
  • Maintain payroll documentation, procedures and controls



The Successful Applicant

  • Strong senior‑level payroll experience within complex organisations
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance
  • Experience with SAP payroll, SucessFactors Employee Central and Spinifex reporting will be advantageous
  • Exposure to payroll system upgrades, testing or implementations (desirable)
  • A continuous improvement mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Confidence managing competing priorities in fast‑paced environments
