Senior Payroll Specialist

Melbourne CBD Permanent AU$130,000 - AU$140,000 per year View Job Description
It's rare to find a business with both an excellent culture and a genuine respect for payroll and compliance - this is one of them. You'll join an organisation where leadership backs payroll, accuracy is non‑negotiable, and flexibility is part of the culture.
  • Excellent WFH flexibility
  • Compliance, BAU & continuous improvement focus

About Our Client

Our client is a well‑established organisation operating at scale, with a payroll environment complex enough to genuinely challenge and engage an experienced payroll professional. Importantly, this is a business where payroll is respected, listened to, and properly supported.

The organisation is currently undergoing a payroll system implementation alongside broader payroll uplift, creating an environment where strong payroll practitioners can have real influence. There is a proactive, compliance‑first mindset - with leadership focused on robust checks, reconciliations, and doing things properly rather than rushing outcomes.

From a flexibility perspective, the organisation offers excellent work‑from‑home arrangements and is genuinely flexible around start and finish times. Trust, outcomes, and professionalism are prioritised over rigid attendance or micromanagement.

Leadership support is another key differentiator. The Executive Leadership Team genuinely values payroll and compliance, understands the risks of getting it wrong, and backs the function accordingly - through investment, realistic expectations, and respect for payroll expertise.
