Job Description



Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, allocate resources, and establish milestones to meet project timelines.
  • Budget Awareness: Monitor project expenses, track costs, and propose cost-saving solutions to ensure adherence to the budget.
  • Risk Management: Identify project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and conduct detailed risk assessments.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage team workloads, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure materials and labor availability.
  • Trades Management: Coordinate onsite trades, define scope, evaluate performance, and build strong trade relationships.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Inspect and enforce quality standards, implement quality control plans, and conduct inspections.
  • Safety Compliance: Develop and implement safety plans, conduct audits, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Facilitate clear communication with teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and resolve conflicts.
  • Change Management Support: Assess the impact of changes to project scope and coordinate adjustments with clients and trades.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and produce detailed reports using project management software.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and train team members while managing HR-related issues and promoting a positive team environment.
  • Site Startup: Manage site logistics, ensure preparedness with critical documentation, and coordinate with the factory on deliverables.
  • Handover: Ensure project handover aligns with procedures, delivering completed projects to client satisfaction.
  • Design Review: Collaborate on design reviews and facilitate any procedural changes needed for fabrication and installation.
  • Variations Support: Provide advice on project variations, assess impacts, and guide compliance with standards.
  • Task Assignment: Clearly define deliverables, develop specific procedures, and provide training as required for project success.



The Successful Applicant



  • Extensive Experience in Construction Site Management: At least 7 years of experience overseeing construction projects, ideally within structural steel or similar industries.


  • Strong Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and motivate teams, coordinate trades, and manage team dynamics effectively.


  • Excellent Project Management Abilities: Demonstrated experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.


  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manage quality standards, and ensure safety compliance on site.


  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with team members, stakeholders, and clients effectively.


  • Attention to Detail: High focus on quality control, ensuring work meets established standards and regulations.


  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess risks and variations, implement solutions to keep the project on track, and proactively manage challenges.


  • Safety-Focused: In-depth knowledge of workplace safety regulations and ability to create and enforce safety plans, ensuring a safe working environment.


  • Qualification and Certification: Trade qualification or construction management certification (Certificate IV in Building and Construction or similar). Relevant certifications in safety or project management would be an advantage.


  • Experience in High-End Commercial Projects: Previous work experience on premium office, retail, or mixed-use developments, preferably in high-rise environments.


  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage resources efficiently, keep track of schedules, and handle documentation and reporting with attention to detail.
