Job Description

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the drafting team to deliver high-quality, accurate drafting outputs aligned to business priorities.
  • Set clear goals and performance standards; conduct regular check-ins and evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that reflects company values and drives continuous improvement.



Operational Excellence & Workflow Management

  • Own end-to-end drafting workflows and standards; continuously evaluate processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct regular drawing reviews/audits to maintain precision and consistency.
  • Oversee resource allocation and scheduling to meet project timelines.



Quality, Standards & PLC Compliance

  • Implement and monitor adherence to drafting standards and Product Life Cycle (PLC) processes.
  • Maintain document control and version integrity for all drafted materials.
  • Drive standardisation of templates, details, and conventions across the state drafting function.



Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Project Managers, Engineers, Estimating, BIM, and Site/Commissioning to align drafting priorities.
  • Provide drafting expertise to cross-functional initiatives and resolve information gaps.



Client & External Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with clients and third parties to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
  • Respond to client feedback proactively and embed learnings into workflows.



People Development & Capability Building

  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development.
  • Coach senior drafting leaders to build leadership capability and succession pipelines.



Accountabilities

  • Contribute to budget planning and implement cost-effective strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with drafting processes.
  • Develop contingency plans for unforeseen challenges.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Encourage adoption of new technologies and methodologies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualification in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in drafting management, preferably in HVAC or construction industry.
