Job Description

The role of Tax Manager in the energy and natural resources industry offers an excellent opportunity to oversee tax compliance and advisory functions while contributing to strategic financial planning.

  • Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including preparation and review of income tax, GST, FBT and payroll tax filings.
  • Provide tax advisory services to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives and optimising tax outcomes.
  • Identify and implement tax planning opportunities considering tax effect and deferred tax calculations.
  • Oversee tax audits and liaise with external tax authorities and advisors.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organisation.
  • Business partner across departments to ensure business-wide understanding of tax implications of decisions

The Successful Applicant

A successful Tax Manager should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with CA or CPA qualifications preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Australian tax laws and regulations, secured within big 4 or large Corporate environments.
  • Prior experience in tax compliance and advisory, ideally within the energy and natural resources industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and solving tax-related challenges.
