The ICT Project Delivery Manager is responsible for leading the end‑to‑end delivery of complex, multi‑year ICT projects involving software implementation, system integration, testing, operational transition, and business change within a structured government environment. The role requires strong governance, procurement, and stakeholder management capabilities to drive successful project outcomes across diverse internal teams and external vendors.

About Our Client

Our client is a large Queensland Government department responsible for delivering major digital and technology initiatives that modernise public services and improve customer experience across the state. Their technology division leads significant ICT programs, driving innovation, system upgrades, and future‑focused digital transformation in a complex, high‑impact environment.

Job Description

  • Lead the full project lifecycle from initiation to implementation, including architecture, integration, scalability, systems testing, and operational transition.
  • Manage project scope, cost, schedule, risk, and quality in alignment with project governance and PMO frameworks.
  • Drive procurement activities, including evaluation of vendor proposals and alignment to QGov procurement requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and delivery partners in a highly complex, multi‑stakeholder environment.
  • Prepare high‑quality written material including project briefs, reports, presentations, and decision papers for senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Maintain alignment with enterprise governance bodies including Project Boards and the Portfolio Delivery Office.
  • Oversee project financials including budgets, forecasts, and variance tracking.
  • Promote structured project management methodology (PRINCE2, Agile/hybrid), ensuring consistency and best practice across the program.

The Successful Applicant

A successful ICT Project Manager should have:

  • 10+ years' experience delivering complex, multi‑year ICT projects with a strong hands‑on approach.
  • Experience in software delivery, systems testing, transition to operations, and implementation in large, complex environments.
  • High-level stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and communicate across senior leadership levels.
  • Demonstrated experience with government or large enterprise procurement, ideally within the Queensland Government procurement framework.
  • Strong vendor management, negotiation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Practical experience delivering with PRINCE2 and/or Agile methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify underlying issues and drive solutions.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office Suite.



Highly Desirable

  • Experience delivering ICT projects within Queensland Government.
  • Exposure to complex technology environments involving integration, architecture, and multi-system dependencies.
