Job Description

  • Develop and implement end-to-end volunteer recruitment and strategies.
  • Maintain compliance with National Standards for Volunteer Involvement, WHS obligations, Fair Work guidance and all screening requirements (NPC, WWCC).
  • Support and manage volunteer engagement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate the success of volunteer programs.
  • Prepare reports and provide updates to the management team.
  • Address any concerns or issues raised by volunteers effectively.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Volunteer Specialist should have:

  • Experience in volunteer management, HR, community engagement or a related field.
  • A relevant qualification in human resources, community services, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of volunteer best practice, rights and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of WHS, Fair Work and screening compliance relating to volunteers.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and training delivery skills.
  • Ability to self‑manage, prioritise and operate autonomously.
  • High level of cultural awareness and commitment to inclusive practice.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.
  • Strong administrative and Microsoft Office skills (Excel essential).
