The purpose of the Principal Advisor (Commercial) is to manage the implementation, administration, review and monitoring of the contractual matters for a new train fleet in Queensland.
  • 6 Month Contract Role

This Department delivers major transport infrastructure across Queensland, focusing on safety, sustainability and connectivity.

Job Description

  • Provide strategic commercial advice to support decision-making processes.
  • Contribute to the implementation and ongoing management of the Project specifically regarding contract management, quality and performance matters
  • Manage the NGR Operations processes and procedures to ensure effective Project Controls are applied
  • Develop and present comprehensive, high-quality submissions and reports on complex contract management and program management issues and proposals.
  • Perform duties as required to assist the Contracts, Performance and Operations team to meet business obligations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to business support activities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational goals.
  • Analyse data and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of business processes and recommend improvements.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Principal Advisor (Commercial) should have:

  • A strong background in commercial advisory within the public sector.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Adept at analysing complex data to inform decision-making.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
