About Our Client

Our client is a large, highly regarded organisation with a significant national workforce and a complex multi-entity payroll environment. Due to continued growth and an ongoing focus on process improvement, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Team Lead to join their established payroll function. Our client offers excellent WFH flexibility (3 days office, 2 days WFH) and has a fantastic culture.

Job Description

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of Payroll Officers
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple payroll cycles
  • Review, approve and oversee payroll calculations, transactions and exception reporting
  • Act as the escalation point for complex payroll, remuneration and compliance queries
  • Ensure compliance with Enterprise Agreements, Awards, employment contracts and legislative requirements
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across finance, HR and operational teams
  • Support payroll audits, reconciliations and reporting activities
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes, improve efficiencies and strengthen payroll controls
  • Contribute to ongoing payroll projects and business improvement initiatives



The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience in a Payroll Team Leader, Payroll Supervisor or Senior Payroll position
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing payroll within high-volume, complex environments
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with a passion for developing and supporting teams
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Agreements and Award interpretation
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Advanced Excel capability
  • Experience working across multi-entity payroll structures will be highly regarded
