Job Description

  • Develop network architecture designs that meet business and technical requirements.
  • Define network standards, principles and design documentation to support consistent delivery.
  • Review existing network environments and identify practical improvements to performance, resilience and scalability.
  • Provide technical guidance for network infrastructure projects, from planning through to implementation.
  • Assess proposed network solutions and provide recommendations that align with architectural requirements.
  • Work with technology stakeholders to translate business needs into clear network designs.
  • Maintain architecture roadmaps that guide future network investment and technical decisions.
  • Resolve complex network design matters and document clear options for decision-makers.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Principal Network Architect' should have:

  • 12+ years' experience designing and operating large-scale network infrastructure.
  • Proven experience as a Principal Network Architect, Lead Network Architect, Distinguished Engineer or similar senior technical role.
  • Deep expertise across carrier-grade or hyperscale backbone environments.
  • Strong experience with IP/MPLS, Segment Routing, EVPN and large-scale routing architectures.
  • Hands-on knowledge of optical transport technologies including DWDM and OTN.
  • Demonstrated experience designing resilient network architectures with physical-route diversity and SRLG considerations.
  • Experience leading architecture governance, technical assurance and design reviews.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage technical and executive audiences.
  • Confidence providing clear technical advice on complex network design matters.



Highly Desirable

  • Experience with subsea cable networks and international connectivity.
  • Exposure to AI, HPC or GPU-driven infrastructure environments.
  • Experience supporting InfiniBand, RDMA or RoCE-based networking environments.
