About Our Client

Our client is a specialist Australian electrical engineering consultancy and project delivery business focused on high-voltage (HV) and power systems solutions. The company supports clients across mining, utilities, renewable energy, infrastructure and heavy industrial sectors, providing expertise throughout the entire project lifecycle, from concept design and feasibility studies through to commissioning, testing and operational support.

Job Description

  • Deliver electrical engineering design solutions for high-voltage and power system projects.
  • Conduct power system analysis and studies, including fault level, load flow and protection coordination assessments.
  • Prepare technical documentation, design reports, specifications and engineering calculations.
  • Support the design and development of substations, protection systems and electrical infrastructure.
  • Participate in commissioning, testing and energisation activities for HV electrical assets.
  • Provide technical advice and engineering support to clients and project teams.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers, contractors and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Assist with project planning, budgeting and scheduling activities.
  • Ensure designs and engineering deliverables comply with relevant Australian standards and industry regulations.
  • Undertake site inspections, field investigations and condition assessments.
  • Contribute to asset management and lifecycle improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues to ensure safe, reliable and efficient power system operation.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality assurance and risk management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of engineering best practices.
  • Foster strong client relationships through responsive service and high-quality technical outcomes.



The Successful Applicant

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in power systems, high-voltage electrical engineering or industrial electrical projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical design principles, protection systems and power system studies.
  • Exposure to mining, utilities, renewable energy, infrastructure or heavy industrial environments.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, specifications, calculations and engineering documentation.
  • Experience with industry-standard power system modelling and analysis software is highly regarded.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver practical engineering solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Willingness to undertake site work, commissioning and field-based engineering activities.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a hands-on project environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality and engineering excellence.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively across multiple projects.
  • Motivated to learn, develop technically and build a long-term career in the power systems industry.
  • Holds (or is eligible to obtain) a valid driver's licence and work rights in Australia.
  • CPEng status or progress towards professional accreditation will be viewed favourably.
