Our client is a well-established civil and electrical infrastructure contractor delivering projects across utilities, energy, transport and renewable sectors throughout Australia. They have built a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects supported by in-house civil and electrical capabilities.

Job Description

  • Identify potential risks and provide recommendations to mitigate cost overruns.
  • Lead end-to-end tender submissions from initial enquiry through to contract award.
  • Develop tender strategies, methodologies and submission programmes.
  • Prepare detailed first-principles estimates, quantity take-offs and pricing models.
  • Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
  • Collaborate with project, engineering and operational teams throughout the tender lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior estimators and contribute to estimating best practice.
  • Facilitate project handovers and provide commercial support during delivery.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Estimator should have:

  • A practical approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • 8+ years' estimating experience within electrical, utilities, infrastructure or renewable energy sectors.
  • Proven track record delivering complex construction tenders valued above $1M.
  • Strong first-principles estimating and cost-planning capability.
  • Sound understanding of subcontractor procurement and market pricing.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience assessing project risk and contracts.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
  • Experience in HV substations, transmission, ASP, BESS or renewable infrastructure highly regarded.
