The Finance System Transformation Lead will assist in the design and development of a new Chart of Accounts as part of a major ERP transformation project. This role requires a proactive, senior finance professional who can work autonomously, engage key stakeholders and deliver improved financial reporting and finance system outcomes. Temporary position for 3-6 months with an immediate start.

About Our Client

Our client is a well-regarded organisation undertaking a significant finance systems transformation initiative. As part of a broader ERP modernisation program, they are seeking a senior finance professional to lead the design and development of a new Chart of Accounts, improve financial processes and ensure the efficiency of finance operations with future business requirements.

Job Description

  • Lead the finance workstream within a major ERP transformation project.
  • Design and implement a new enterprise-wide Chart of Accounts aligned to future reporting requirements.
  • Partner with Finance, IT, and key stakeholders to define business requirements and solution designs.
  • Review and redesign finance processes to improve efficiency, controls, and data integrity.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on ERP finance module configuration and reporting structures.
  • Lead finance data migration activities, including cleansing, governance, reconciliation, and validation.
  • Establish and coordinate testing activities including UAT and integration testing.
  • Deliver change management, stakeholder engagement, and user adoption initiatives.
  • Develop reporting frameworks, dashboards, and financial performance monitoring tools.
  • Manage relationships with ERP vendors and implementation partners to ensure successful outcomes

The Successful Applicant

A successful Finance System Transformation Lead should have:

  • Ability to start immediately or within short notice.
  • CA or CPA qualified with tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, ICT, or a related discipline.
  • Desirable experience designing and implementing Chart of Accounts structures and financial reporting frameworks.
  • Proven track record delivering ERP implementation, upgrade, or transformation projects.
  • Experience with large ERP platforms such as TechnologyOne or similar environments will be highly regarded.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and finance operations.
  • Familiarity with public sector regulations and compliance requirements desirable.
