Our client is an established Brisbane-based technology services organisation providing end-to-end IT solutions to a diverse portfolio of customers.

With a strong pipeline of project work and continued investment in its delivery capability, the business is looking to strengthen its project team with an experienced IT Project Manager who can operate comfortably in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Job Description

As the IT Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple concurrent technology projects, typically managing 4-5 projects each month.

Projects will vary in size and complexity and may include Microsoft 365 implementations, cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, server and virtualisation projects, networking changes and broader technology transformation initiatives.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing projects from initiation through to successful completion
  • Developing project plans, schedules, milestones and delivery timelines
  • Managing scope, risks, issues, dependencies and change
  • Coordinating engineers, vendors and client stakeholders
  • Running project meetings and providing clear status updates
  • Managing customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensuring projects are delivered within agreed scope, budget and timeframes
  • Supporting technical discovery, scoping and project estimation
  • Coordinating implementation, go-live and project handover
  • Maintaining accurate project and technical documentation
  • Identifying delivery risks early and driving appropriate mitigation
  • Working closely with technical and service delivery teams
  • Contributing to improvements in project governance and delivery processes



Projects may span technologies including Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, networking, backup solutions and broader cloud and infrastructure environments.

  • You will not necessarily be expected to be the hands-on engineer, but you will need enough technical understanding to confidently manage technical teams, understand project dependencies and communicate effectively with customers.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be an experienced IT Project Manager who is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.You will ideally bring:

  • Previous experience as an IT, Technology or Technical Project Manager
  • Experience delivering multiple concurrent technology projects
  • Strong exposure to infrastructure, cloud or Microsoft-based environments
  • Experience within an MSP, IT services or consulting environment highly regarded
  • Strong project planning, organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent stakeholder and client management capability
  • Strong understanding of scope, risk, change and project governance
  • Commercial awareness around budgets, effort and project delivery
  • Confidence working closely with engineers and technical specialists
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively



Exposure to PRINCE2, PMI, Agile or Scrum methodologies would be advantageous, as would ITIL knowledge across areas such as Change Management and Service Transition.
