About Our Client

Our client is Orbital UAV, a long-standing supplier of powerplants for the commercial drone and UAV sector. With a growing list of customers and continued development, they have multiple requirements for outstanding technical staff for their team.

Job Description

  • Design and develop mechanical and mechatronic systems to meet project specifications.
  • Conduct testing and analysis to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical components with electronic systems.
  • Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including technical drawings and reports.
  • Support the troubleshooting and optimisation of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations in all designs.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables effectively.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • A degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, particularly using 8D or 7-step methodologies.
  • Experience in developing and testing mechanical or mechatronic systems, particularly harnesses, wiring systems and ECUs.
  • Strong understanding of testing, the application of GD&T, tolerance analysis and fit assessments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A proactive approach to project management and task prioritisation.
