Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll play a critical role in ensuring payroll is delivered accurately, on time, and in full compliance with Australian legislation and enterprise agreements

Job Description

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Manage the fortnightly payroll cycle across permanent, casual, and contract employees
  • Interpret and apply Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) to ensure correct payment of entitlements and allowances
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll data, including updates to roles, deductions, and classifications
  • Review and validate timesheet data
  • Calculate payroll tax obligations, superannuation, and statutory contributions
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee queries
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including site-based teams, to ensure accurate reporting of hours worked
  • Ensure all payroll-related payments (super, PAYG, etc.) are processed accurately and on time

The Successful Applicant

The successful Payroll Specialist should have:

  • A proven track record in a similar end to end payroll position.
  • Confident in interpreting EBAs and modern awards
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
