The WHS Manager will lead and manage workplace health and safety strategies across a complex and fast paced meat processing plant. With a focus on driving a strong safety culture, and maintaining positive employee outcomes, this is a role well suited to a well-rounded people and safety leader. This role is based in Cowaramup and requires a proactive approach to ensure positive outcomes for staff and stakeholders.

Job Description

  • Develop, implement, and review WHS policies and procedures in alignment with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend control measures to mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide WHS training and support to employees across the engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, and company standards.
  • Foster a safety-first culture and promote employee engagement in WHS initiatives.
  • Prepare and present WHS performance reports to senior management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in workplace health and safety practices.

The Successful Applicant

A successful WHS Manager should have:

  • Qualifications in workplace health and safety or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a WHS role within the FMCG or similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and industry standards in Australia.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to influence and guide teams effectively.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and leading incident investigations.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving safety challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an engineering and manufacturing environment.
