Sydney, 16 April 2019: Michael Page International (Australia) Pty Ltd (Michael Page) has announced a new service agreement with the Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA), which will arm players with career development and advice for life off the pitch.
The partnership will see Michael Page providing job readiness to ACA players by offering group-based education on resume development and interview skills, in addition developing a greater understanding on the recruiting process.
This will enable opportunities for individual players to utilise Michael Page’s expertise and services when they are actively looking for employment.
Michael Page and the ACA will work together to run a number of networking events where players can meet with industry professionals to explore:
• the types of roles available within their organisation,
• develop an understanding of their employment pathway, and
• provide an opportunity to form an ongoing relationship with contacts to assist with future career prospects.
Michael Page will identify a suitable point of contact in each state, who will work directly with the ACA Player Development manager to tailor support required for their players.
“Transitioning into the world of work after a sports career remains a significant challenge across all sporting communities. We are proud to partner with the ACA and play our part in helping cricket players with their post-professional sporting career path,” Matthew Gribble, Regional Managing Director, PageGroup Australia and New Zealand says.
According to Tim Cruickshank, General Manager - The Cricketers’ Brand, Australian Cricketers’ Association, the partnership aims to ensure players will be firmly positioned for success in the recruitment process: being well-prepared, well-presented and well-connected.
“The relationship with Michael Page will provide ACA members with the support to ensure they are ready to put their best foot forward when they are ready to pursue employment beyond cricket. From a well presented resume, to a well prepared interview,” Cruickshank shares.
“In a constantly changing labour market it is great to have the specialist services and support from Michael Page made available to our members across a wide range of industry areas and employment types, from personnel to professional.”
