Our client is a large, well-established organisation within the retail sector, recognised for its strong market presence and customer-focused culture. Currently navigating a period of operational transformation, they are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Team Lead to support a busy finance function while driving process improvements and leading a geographically dispersed team.

Job Description

Reporting into the AP/AR Manager, the successful Accounts Payable Team Lead will be responsible for:

  • Leading the day-to-day Accounts Payable function within a high-volume environment.
  • Managing and supporting a geographically dispersed AP team.
  • Overseeing supplier reconciliations and resolving escalated issues.
  • Driving operational efficiencies and continuous process improvements.
  • Supporting change initiatives and maintaining service delivery during transition.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Preparing AP reporting and supporting month-end activities.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.



The Successful Applicant

The successful Accounts Payable Team Lead will have:

  • Proven experience leading an Accounts Payable team within a high-volume environment.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including managing geographically dispersed and offshore team members.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting teams through change and business transformation.
  • The ability to work confidently through ambiguity and take ownership in environments with limited handover.
  • A proactive mindset with a strong focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • SAP experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
