About Our Client

An opportunity is available for an experienced Finance Officer to join a respected Queensland Government organisation in Brisbane CBD.

Working within a close-knit finance team, this role offers a mix of financial reporting, reconciliations, analysis and operational finance support. While there is some transactional activity, this is not a high-volume AP role. We're looking for someone who enjoys investigating variances, understanding financial trends and contributing to sound financial decision-making.

Job Description

  • Prepare and review financial reconciliations
  • Support month-end and reporting activities
  • Analyse financial data and investigate variances
  • Assist with financial management of electoral and other business events
  • Process supplier requisitions and provide limited AP support
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding financial matters
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and financial controls



The Successful Applicant

  • Experience in a finance, accounting or financial reporting position
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
  • Ability to identify issues, investigate anomalies and challenge unexpected results
  • Experience using SAP ECC6 or S/4HANA will be highly regarded
  • Previous Queensland Government or broader public sector experience is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-based environment
