About Our Client

Our client is a well respected and established EPC contracting business working across the Power Transmission substation and renewable energy markets within Australia. With some of the industries most experienced leaders, they are now looking to hire an Estimation manager to join the team in Sydney and take full ownership and responsibility for the growth of their estimation department. With a massive pipeline of projects already secured, they are taking the next step in their evolution to become the dominant player in this market in Australia.

Job Description

  • Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for electrical projects within the energy industry.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather necessary project information.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options.
  • Prepare and present estimation reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of costs for materials, labour, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations during the estimation process.
  • Support the project team during bid negotiations and contract finalisations.
  • Help the organisation to grow, coach and mentor other estimators across multiple disciplines

The Successful Applicant

A successful Electrical Estimation Manager should have:

  • A strong background in electrical estimation within the energy industry, in particular a proven successful record in the Transmission substation and renewable energy markets within Australia.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and project specifications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cost analysis and budgeting for large-scale projects.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for estimation and project management.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to ensure accuracy in all estimations.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring capabilities for the growth of the division.
