About Our Client

Our client is a specialist Australian EPC contractor delivering high-voltage substation, grid connection, and battery energy storage projects. Known for their technical expertise and agile delivery model, they play a key role in supporting Australia's transition to renewable energy.

Job Description

  • Produce detailed primary design deliverables for HV/MV substations, including SLDs and layout drawings
  • Support equipment selection and contribute to technical specifications aligned with project needs
  • Apply foundational knowledge of earthing, clearances, and insulation in design work
  • Use AutoCAD (or similar) to develop and update engineering drawings
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant Australian standards and industry requirements
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate and efficient design solutions
  • Provide technical input during project planning, design reviews, and delivery phases
  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project success

The Successful Applicant

A successful Junior Primary Engineer should have:

  • Proficiency in HV/MV substation primary design, including single line diagrams and layouts.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, microstation or similar design tools to create technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of equipment selection, specifications, earthing, and clearance basics.
  • Familiarity with Australian standards (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
  • A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent technical background.
