Job Description

  • Develop and implement legal and compliance strategies tailored to the retail sector.
  • Provide expert legal advice to support business objectives and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Manage and oversee legal documentation, contracts, and agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on legal matters.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate measures.
  • Lead and mentor a team within the legal department.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the retail industry.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal and Compliance General Manager should have:

  • A degree in Law or a related field.
  • Proven experience in legal and compliance roles within the retail industry.
  • Has experience in corporate or commercial law.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian laws and regulations.
  • Permanent residency
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic legal advice in a busy environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in managing contracts and legal documentation.
