We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to support our client a transport and logistics business during a critical period of growth and operational activity. This role will combine management reporting, financial analysis and business partnering to deliver insights that drive commercial decision-making and business performance.

Job Description

  • Produce regular financial reporting packs that provide visibility over business performance and profitability.
  • Take ownership of key components of the month-end process, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Evaluate financial results against expectations, highlighting trends, risks and opportunities to management.
  • Provide oversight of major operating expenditures, tracking cost movements and identifying areas for improved efficiencies.
  • Create meaningful performance dashboards and metrics that assist leaders in making informed commercial decisions.
  • Consolidate and interpret information from various business systems to ensure accurate reporting within the finance environment.
  • Work closely with operational teams and department heads to strengthen financial understanding across the business.
  • Review existing reporting and finance processes, recommending improvements to streamline workflows and enhance data quality.
  • Contribute to planning cycles through financial modelling, budget preparation and forecast updates.
  • Deliver detailed analysis and commercial insights to support strategic projects, business initiatives and executive decision-making.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Management Accountant should have:

  • A relevant qualification in accounting or finance.
  • Ability to start immediately or within short notice.
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Strong technical accounting and management reporting capabilities.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel skills.
  • Experience within transport, logistics, warehousing or mining services industries will be highly regarded.
