Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead their payroll function and drive operational excellence across a large and diverse workforce.

Job Description

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading end-to-end payroll processing for a national workforce
  • Managing complex payroll transactions including terminations, redundancies, adjustments and manual calculations
  • Overseeing payroll compliance across awards, legislation and employment conditions
  • Managing monthly payroll activities, including payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG and reporting requirements
  • Acting as the escalation point for complex payroll queries
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing payroll team members
  • Partnering with HR, Finance and operational leaders to deliver high-quality payroll outcomes
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation and efficiency gains
  • Supporting payroll system enhancements and broader business transformation initiatives

The Successful Applicant

The successful Payroll Manager will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Payroll Manager, Senior Payroll or Team Lead capacity
  • Proven end-to-end payroll experience within a large and complex workforce environment
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, NES and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing payroll for multi-site operations
  • Payroll systems expertise
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Experience within construction, infrastructure, trade services or similar industries will be highly regarded
