Job Description

Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you will support payroll and HR administration activities while developing your knowledge across the full payroll function. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in payroll processing, employee lifecycle administration, compliance, reporting, and continuous process improvement within a supportive team environment.Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the processing of end-to-end payroll in line with legislative and company requirements.
  • Maintain employee records across payroll and HR systems.
  • Support payroll administration, including leave management, deductions, superannuation, and payroll queries.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Help prepare payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
  • Provide timely and accurate support to employees regarding payroll and HR enquiries.
  • Contribute to process improvements across payroll and HR functions.
  • Support HR administration throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Ensure payroll deadlines and compliance requirements are consistently met.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Payroll Officer should have:

  • Previous experience in payroll, HR administration, or a similar administrative role.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Experience using payroll and/or HRIS systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation is beneficial but not essential.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn the full payroll function.
