We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a high-performing payroll team on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering parental leave. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who enjoys managing end-to-end payroll processing, thrives in a fast-paced environment and values accuracy, compliance and teamwork.

Job Description

  • Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time
  • Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, awards and company policies
  • Maintain employee payroll records and data integrity
  • Process payroll adjustments including leave, allowances, deductions and terminations
  • Respond to payroll-related employee queries
  • Reconcile payroll reports and payroll-related accounts
  • Assist with month-end reporting requirements
  • Work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee data management
  • Support payroll audits and compliance activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within payroll processes

  • AS400 Time & Attendance

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a Payroll Officer position
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience processing medium to large payrolls
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and pay cycle requirements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience using iChris will be highly regarded
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a proactive approach
