Job Description

You'll establish and lead the New Zealand sourcing operation from Hawke's Bay, working hands-on with growers, packhouses, and exporters to deliver premium fruit into global markets. This is a build role with full ownership of procurement and supply relationships.

  • Source premium apples directly from growers across key NZ regions
  • Build and scale a reliable network of orchards and supply partners
  • Identify and lease packhouse capacity for packing and storage
  • Oversee cold chain logistics, shipping and export coordination
  • Ensure quality control, traceability and export compliance
  • Collaborate with global teams across India, Chile and Europe
  • Support team build-out across procurement and quality functions



The Successful Applicant

You're a well-connected procurement professional within New Zealand's agriculture industry, comfortable operating autonomously while building something new on the ground. You understand the full grower-to-export lifecycle and have credibility with growers.

  • Proven experience in fruit procurement or horticulture
  • Strong network across growers, packhouses and exporters
  • Deep understanding of Gala apple regions
  • Experience managing cold chain and post-harvest processes
  • Commercial mindset with ability to secure large volumes
  • Comfortable building teams and scaling operations
  • Degree in agriculture, agronomy or related discipline preferred
