Job Description

  • Lead detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for HV substation and utility projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to develop accurate pricing.
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor engagement to obtain competitive quotations.
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering initiatives.
  • Maintain estimating databases, schedules of rates and benchmarking data.
  • Prepare project schedules, pre-contract documentation and cost reports.
  • Participate in tender briefings, bid reviews and commercial negotiations.
  • Review and sign off technical, commercial and financial aspects of major bids.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Senior Estimator - Substations' should have:

  • Practical understanding of construction delivery requirements and cost drivers for substation projects.Proven experience as a Senior Estimator, Lead Estimator or Estimating Manager.
  • Strong background in substations, transmission, utilities or major infrastructure.
  • Advanced commercial, analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex drawings and tender documentation.
  • Experience using estimating software and advanced Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Construction Management, Engineering or Trade qualifications highly regarded.
