This is a hands-on position suited to a proactive finance professional who enjoys balancing technical accounting responsibilities with commercial exposure across the wider business.You will work closely with operational leaders and senior stakeholders, providing insights, maintaining strong financial controls, and helping deliver accurate and timely financial information to support business performance.

About Our Client

We're seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join a high-performing finance team in a role that offers broad exposure across financial reporting, business partnering, process improvement, budgeting and compliance. Reporting to an experienced Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in driving financial accuracy, supporting strategic decision making, and contributing to ongoing business improvement initiatives

Job Description

  • Lead key aspects of the month-end and quarter-end close process
  • Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Deliver monthly management reporting and variance analysis
  • Support board reporting and budgeting processes
  • Maintain cash flow forecasts and monitor banking transactions
  • Support payroll accounting, payroll reconciliations and related control accounts
  • Assist with BAS, tax and statutory reporting requirements
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and lease accounting schedules
  • Partner with leaders across the organisation to provide financial guidance and insights
  • Contribute to process improvements and finance transformation initiatives
  • Support interim and year-end audit requirements
  • Mentor and support transactional finance team members while promoting strong financial controls and governance.



The Successful Applicant

  • Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion
  • Previous experience in a Financial Accountant or Senior Financial Accountant position
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, compliance and accounting standards
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
  • The ability to build relationships across all levels of a business
  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, construction, logistics or similar environments will be advantageous.
