We are currently seeking an experienced Senior IT Applications Project Manager to lead a business-critical transformation program focused on the uplift of enterprise rostering systems within a large, operational environment.This is a high-visibility role where you will play a key part in delivering outcomes that directly impact workforce operations at scale.

Job Description

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of IT applications projects, from initiation, planning and design through to execution, go-live and benefits realisation
  • Define and drive project scope, timelines, governance frameworks and delivery plans aligned to business outcomes
  • Manage and influence senior stakeholders across business and technology, ensuring alignment, engagement and informed decision-making
  • Act as the critical link between technical teams and business units, translating requirements into actionable delivery outcomes
  • Oversee project risks, issues, dependencies and change management, ensuring proactive mitigation and resolution
  • Drive transparent reporting, status updates and executive-level communications
  • Ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose, scalable and aligned with operational needs, particularly in workforce / rostering contexts
  • Lead cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver outcomes in complex, fast-paced environments
  • Conduct reviews of delivery progress, quality and performance, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior IT Project Manager should have:

  • Proven experience managing complex IT projects in the transport and distribution sector.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive project success.
  • Experience in risk management and problem-solving within technology projects.
  • Relevant qualifications in project management or a related field.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience with rostering, workforce management, or scheduling systems
  • Background in operational industries (e.g. transport, energy, logistics, utilities)
  • Exposure to large-scale transformation or business improvement programs
