Job Description

As Strategic Development Manager, you will provide enterprise-wide strategic support and partner closely with senior leaders to improve the quality and consistency of strategic decision-making across the organisation. This is an advisory role focused on strategy development, analysis and executive support rather than project delivery ownership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with General Managers and business leaders to identify strategic priorities, opportunities and challenges.
  • Leading strategic reviews across services, programs and business models.
  • Supporting the development of enterprise and business unit strategies.
  • Conducting market assessments, benchmarking, environmental scanning and quantitative analysis.
  • Developing frameworks, methodologies and tools to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Preparing executive papers, discussion documents, presentations and recommendations.
  • Developing structured options analysis and strategic recommendations for executive and board-level decisions.
  • Supporting major business cases, investment proposals and transformation initiatives.
  • Evaluating strategic risks, benefits, costs and organisational impacts.
  • Facilitating strategic discussions and translating complex information into clear, actionable insights.

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role you will bring a strong background in strategy, transformation, management consulting, corporate planning or a related discipline, coupled with the ability to influence senior stakeholders in complex environments.

You are likely to possess:

  • Experience gained within strategy consulting, transformation advisory, corporate strategy or internal consulting functions.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives and complex decision-making processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and structured thinking capability.
  • Experience developing business cases, strategic recommendations and investment proposals.
  • Outstanding written communication and executive paper-writing skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing capability.
  • The ability to synthesise complex information and present practical recommendations.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, economics, public policy or a related discipline.
