Sydney, August 2019: Michael Page Australia has reinforced its commitment to diversity, both within its workforce and procurement processes, through its recent membership with Supply Nation.
The leading global recruitment company has several initiatives designed to help close the gap for Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. These initiatives include:
• Being the first large recruitment company to have its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) endorsed by Reconciliation Australia
• Recently supporting local Aboriginal artist Kevin Bynder with a commissioned painting, unveiled during NAIDOC Week 2019
• Hosting a Delivering on Diversity event coinciding with the launch of its RAP and internal employee program to drive inclusivity of Indigenous peoples across the business
• Sponsorship of The Smith Family’s Girls at the Centre program, an initiative aimed at helping Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls stay engaged with their education, and to reach their potential at school and beyond
“Becoming an official member of Supply Nation supports our aim to continue on our Reconciliation Action Plan promise. This relationship will improve supplier diversity and our processes on how to procure from Indigenous suppliers,” Matthew Gribble, Regional Managing Director, PageGroup Australia and New Zealand said.
“We look forward to increasing our Indigenous supplier engagement. We are proud to be playing our part in achieving meaningful diversity by promoting bona fide Indigenous businesses. We believe in supporting greater representation and inclusivity, as it will ultimately benefit our local communities.”
Laura Berry, Chief Executive Officer of Supply Nation said: “We are delighted to welcome Michael Page into the Supply Nation community and look forward to working with them to develop their supplier diversity footprint. The measure of our collective success will be in the value of transactions between Michael Page and Indigenous businesses.”
Supply Nation connects its membership to Indigenous suppliers to build a vibrant and prosperous Indigenous business sector by incorporating Indigenous-owned businesses into the supply chain of Australian companies and government agencies.
Supply Nation’s mission is to facilitate, encourage and promote business between corporate Australia and government agencies and Indigenous-owned businesses.
