Job Description

Portfolio Cost Leadership & Reporting

  • Own portfolio‑level cost reporting across budget, commitments, forecast, contingency, and risk
  • Implement auditable, executive‑ready dashboards suitable for board and investor reporting
  • Translate complex cost data into clear strategic insights



Commercial Strategy & Governance

  • Define and embed a scalable cost management and governance framework
  • Standardise commercial documentation, templates, and approval processes
  • Ensure consistency in forecasting, escalation, and contingency assumptions



Commercial Assurance & Oversight

  • Review and challenge project cost plans, forecasts, variations, and final accounts
  • Consolidate multi‑project QS data into concise portfolio‑level reports
  • Identify emerging commercial risks and opportunities across the programme



Benchmarking & Market Intelligence

  • Establish cross‑project benchmarking to challenge assumptions
  • Use market data to inform future development and investment strategy



Risk, Contingency & Scenario Management

  • Develop standard calculation methodologies for escalation, contingency, and cashflow
  • Provide scenario analysis to support funding and delivery trade‑offs



Vendor & Consultant Governance

  • Review vendor and consultant invoices for contractual compliance
  • Support resolution of commercial matters, variations, and claims



Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive improvements in systems, tools, and reporting as the platform scales
  • Contribute to broader commercial initiatives supporting portfolio performance



The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or similar
  • Advanced qualification or professional certification (MBA, CPA, CMA, PMP, or equivalent) preferred
  • 10-15+ years' experience in cost leadership, FP&A, or commercial governance within large‑scale infrastructure or mission‑critical developments
  • Strong understanding of data centre or complex infrastructure cost drivers and contractor behaviours
  • Proven experience consolidating multi‑project data into portfolio‑level insights
  • Confident communicator operating at both technical detail and board/executive level
