Are you an experienced commercial property professional looking for a temporary opportunity to make an impact in the mining industry? We are seeking a Commercial Portfolio Advisor to support our large mining client globally.
  • Perth based candidates only. Day rate contract (6-12 months with view to extend)
  • Sporadic site visits as required

Job Description

Key Accountability'sPortfolio Strategy & Optimisation

· Develop a 3-5 year portfolio strategy aligned to business needs

· Develop program for delivery of the strategy including resource requirements

· Optimise footprint through consolidation, expansion, and exit strategies

· Lead scenario planning for workforce, growth, and market changes

· Identify and execute value creation opportunitiesFinancial & Commercial Performance

· Contribute to portfolio OPEX and CAPEX planning

· Drive cost efficiency initiatives (space utilisation, lease optimisation)

· Support and influence investment decisions and business cases

· Ensure alignment with Rio Tinto financial and governance frameworks

· Help with any acquisitionsStakeholder Engagement & Governance

· Partner with GMs, Function Leads, and Finance to align portfolio strategy

· Provide clear, data-driven insights to support executive decisions

· Operate within Delegation of Authority (DoA) and governance frameworks

· Lead cross-functional alignment on portfolio priorities and trade-offs

The Successful Applicant

A successful Portfolio Advisor should have:

  • Extensive experience in corporate real estate / portfolio management
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial management capability
  • Experience managing multi-region portfolios in complex organisations
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A results-driven approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
