Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsBrisbane based candidates only 6 months initial contract with view to extend3/2 hybrid environmentAbout Our ClientOur client is a key QLD Government DepartmentJob DescriptionThe Specialist will be responsible for delivering the following:Engage with business, finance, regulatory, technology and data stakeholders to understand objectives, decision needs, pain points, data sources, controls and requirements for cost modelling and reporting.Assess and document current data models, calculation logic, data flows, dependencies, assumptions, controls and reporting processes, including their alignment with regulatory commitments to the Motor Accident Insurance Commission.Profile, clean, transform and integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, resolving quality issues and establishing repeatable validation and reconciliation controls.Redesign and simplify cost models, data structures and analytical workflows using fit-for-purpose data management, statistical and cloud technologies, while preserving transparency, traceability and business meaning.Automate data ingestion, transformation, modelling, quality assurance and reporting activities to reduce manual effort, improve timeliness and minimise operational risk.Monitor solution performance and data quality, identify continuous improvement opportunities and balance customer, commercial, operational, strategic, risk and regulatory considerations in recommendations.The Successful ApplicantKey skill setsAdvanced analytical and problem-solving capability, including statistics, model design, validation, optimisation and the ability to challenge and simplify complex approaches.Demonstrated capability in data modelling, data engineering and database concepts, including data pipelines, transformation, integration, quality management and metadata.Experience selecting and applying fit-for-purpose modern data platforms, cloud services, workflow automation and business intelligence tools, such as Microsoft Azure, SQL Server and Power BI or comparable technologies.Exceptional stakeholder engagement, requirements elicitation and facilitation skills, with the ability to build trust, influence senior stakeholders and resolve competing priorities.Excellent written, verbal, visualisation and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and analytical trade-offs clearly to non-technical audiences.Mandatory requirementsA tertiary qualification in data science, computer science, analytics, econometrics or a closely related quantitative discipline, or equivalent demonstrated professional experience.At least 5 years of relevant experience delivering data science, advanced analytics, data modelling, data engineering or decision-support solutions in complex organisational environments.Demonstrated experience reviewing existing models and processes, translating stakeholder needs into technical requirements, and designing, testing, documenting and implementing simplified, controlled and maintainable solutions.What's on OfferDaily rate of $900 to $1000 AUD.Opportunity to work on a temporary assignment in Brisbane City.Contribute to meaningful projects within the public sector.If you have the skills and experience required for this temporary role, we encourage you to apply.ContactHarley LoganQuote job refJN-082026-7084293Phone numberJob summaryFunctionInformation TechnologySpecialisationData Analysis & DevelopmentIndustryTechnology & TelecomsLocationInternationalJob TypeTemporaryConsultant nameHarley LoganConsultant phoneJob ReferenceJN-082026-7084293
